Miniatures to choose from in the champion challenge

The miniature or miniatures you paint must be Chibis from Midknight Heroes only, you have four options of  chibi miniatures to choose from that are being used for this Challenge.

Your entry may only be submitted into the challenge in a single category.

Max 1 entry per person  However you may use 2 of the miniatures listed below in your “Freeze Frame” single entry. (you are NOT required to use two, you are simply allowed to use two in the single entry)

Deyanni

Grog

Lilyana

Orin

Deyanni, a forest elf of the Shaespire woods is one of the deadliest warriors in all the lands.

Grog, the worg rider of the War Fang Clan is a feared warrior throughout the Forest Elf kingdom.

Lilyana is from a historic race of Succubi. Not to be confused with the Vampires, the succubi are more playful while the vampires tend to be more…brutal.

Orin the good-hearted priest of The Order of Light.

The Theme for the Challenge

is “freeze frame” a moment in time.

The idea is to take a snap shot in the life of the miniature/miniatures you are painting, as if you caught them in mid action doing something interesting, so as to document it.

Some documentation will be needed with your entry. Taking a little time to describe your “freeze frame”, and the inspiration in creating it, will help our judges understand the thoughts behind your entry, an example of how a topic would be:

The topic is introduced, supported, and then brought to its natural conclusion.

Keep the description to 60 words or less.
An example might be,

Tea House Annihilation: “This is a mage who discovers his powers only after the passing of his father, he is deeply saddened by his loss and expresses this through random uncontrolled magic throwing, ending up in complete disaster for his small town, and his very own tea house.”

Important things you should know

ALL forms of visual submission must be unedited footage and photos. NO photoshop editing, blurring, or digital rendering can be done to the photographs or video entered, all submissions must be unedited, however, downsizing to comply with file size restrictions is allowed.

When photographing your pictures, please submit them in .JPG (JPEG) format, with a file size no larger than 10MB. If you send us photographs that don’t fall within the limits prescribed above, you will be asked that you fix this as otherwise your entry will not be accepted.

Last Day entry: If you submit your photos on the last day (Aug 13th 11:59pm EST )  and they do not fall within the limits prescribed above, your entry will not be accepted, as on this day we will not have the ability nor manpower to wait for any changes and update you entry in time, so please take this into consideration in timing your submission. You can submit on this day but, everything must be within the guidelines.

There should be NO identifying factors that could tie the miniature to you in the video or photos, (your identity is in the submission form we receive with the visuals… i.e. cups with names, business cards, labeled items, etc) anonymous is what we want. Identifying factors in video or background will disqualify the entry.

Keep in mind if “You are a streamer”, identifying factors could be an item with “NO” label or name but, unique that is always shown in your stream, this IS CONSIDERED IDENTIFYING.

We recommend taking the video or photos in an empty or clear area, or with a suitable backdrop that covers all identifying factors.

TOP SECRET: Please keep your entry “Under Cover”, this means NO social media posts (this includes streaming), no talking about “WHICH mini” you are painting or what your creative idea is. It is of the utmost importance that if the Judges are to do their best job judging the entries, the entries stay secret until all judging is complete. We have opened a special Discord channel for the Champion Challenge entries to gather if you feel the need to share your work or would like some company while working on it.

Posts to social media platforms or streaming your entry would be considered an “Identifying Factor”

An important notation:
We need all participants to understand it is in your hands to provide the judges with a quality visual of your miniature entry. Judges can NOT be held responsible for low quality or out of focus photos and videos, If the photos or video are not a respectable representation of the work done, the judges can not assess the quality of the work done on the entry, and therefore it can not be judged.

Submitting your entry with photos, video and brief explanation of your “Freeze Frame” :

 1) Before you begin painting you will need to take a photo of your UNPAINTED miniatures outside of the package, lying on a clean sheet of paper, write the date of submission, and Captain’s Champion Challenge beside the miniatures. (do not write your name on the paper, submissions will be assigned numbers  once received for ease of identification)

 2) You will need the ability to film a short (1 min max, no more than 200MB) 360* view video of your completed entry and the ability to upload this to our website

 3) You will need to accommodate the judges with four 4-5 quality pictures of your completed entry, we recommend front, back, right side, left side and top or angle that best shows the entries assets

4) Include  your brief description. The topic is introduced, supported, and then brought to its natural conclusion. Keep the description to 60 words or less.

An example would be;

Tea House Annihilation: “This is a mage who discovers his powers only after the passing of his father, he is deeply saddened by his loss and expresses this through random uncontrolled magic throwing, ending up in complete disaster for his small town, and his very own tea house.”

Once your project is complete submit all 4 of the above requirements.
